WEB Aruba: drinking water

WEB is responsible for Aruba’s drinking-water service. At handover, record the meter reading, account or connection reference and the name under which the service is registered. If another person will manage the account, ask WEB which authorisation documents are required.

ELMAR: electricity distribution

ELMAR handles the distribution and customer side of electricity service. Confirm account transfer or activation requirements before completion, photograph the meter and main panel, and make sure a local contact knows how to respond to an outage or electrical fault.

SETAR: internet, fixed line and television

SETAR offers residential internet and related services. Check service availability at the exact address, installation timing, equipment deposits and the current moving or installation charge. Remote owners should document the modem location, network name, guest access and restart procedure without exposing passwords publicly.

Handover checklist

• Photograph all meters on the transfer date
• Save the latest invoice and account reference
• Confirm whose name each account will use
• Ask about deposits and owner authorisation
• Record support and emergency contact routes
• Test Wi-Fi coverage, water pressure and major electrical loads
• Set a process for monitoring unusual consumption

If you own from abroad

Do not let one person become the only route to every account. Keep provider details in a shared property file, appoint contacts formally where required and review invoices for unusual use. A sudden water or electricity increase deserves investigation.
